My name is Nathan and I work at Automattic, Inc., the company that keeps the lights on at WordPress.com. A long time ago I did not work at Automattic. During those sad times I often would write blog posts about mathematics — it was even vaguely part of my job. Occasionally people would read what I wrote, and it was fun! Although I don’t miss not working at Automattic, I do miss writing.

But today I had an epiphany. It’s true that now I can’t justify writing about mathematics per se as part of my job. However I can justify writing a blog on WordPress.com. This is called eating the dog food, which is a gross metaphor for a useful idea. And since you can’t write a blog about nothing at all, it might as well be about mathematics. Ha Ha!
